ORIGINS

REZA GANJAVI was born in Tehran to parents of Azari origins. He emigrated to the USA at a young age, graduated from High School in Ithaca, New York, and obtained multiple university degrees with high honors in Southern California.

MUSIC BACKGROUND

Reza has studied the guitar privately and academically with several world-class teachers, and through master classes with teachers including Luigi Biscaldi, Eduardo Fernandez, Oscar Ghiglia, Angelo Gilardino, Frederick Noad, Christopher Parkening, Angel Romero, Pepe Romero, David Russell and others.

Reza Ganjavi has played the guitar since an early age and has performed in 77 countries (list below). He has appeared on global media broadcasts. Reza's classical guitar repertoire spans six centuries, and as a singer-guitarist he has a rich program of classic rock & pop & world music.

BEST-SELLER RECORDINGS

Reza's first CD of Classical and Romantic guitar music «In Friendship» received international praise and was declared a best selling guitar record.

His second CD, also a classical guitar best-seller «Dancing Hands» contains music of Renaissance and Baroque periods and original arrangements of 250 years of European favorites.

Guest artists on Reza's recordings include internationally recognized artists such as Maurice Steger.

Reza has shared the stage with such great artists as Chuck Berry and George Duke and collaborated with Paul McCartney on "Devour The Earth", a video produced by the European Vegetarian Union and available in 14 languages. His song "Let's Keep Our Planet Clean" received international recognition as part of a global environmental initiative.

Aside form classical guitar, steel string, and electric guitar, Reza also plays the drums, bass guitar, percussion, and keyboards, and has previously played violin, harmonica, recorder, melodica, accordion, and jaw harp.

Provided coaching for troubled youngsters in a number of critical cases which helped avert suicides, and helped addicts and alcoholics beat addiction and have a normal, good life. And many many other instances of helping others in a variety of ways including psychological and legal issues.

Reza has studied and taught various styles of bodyworks including different types of yoga, Alexander Technique and Feldernkrais Method, and has a martial arts Black Belt.
