Duality
Duality
By Reza Ganjavi
Our brains have two sides. The physical universe is polarized. The outer world seems to have binary components – male, female, right, left, north, south…
So the brain has a tendency to think in binary: like-dislike, two options, black-white.
Of course, this tendency can be overcome by awareness of the whole process. However, the statement "Thought can never be rational as its very nature is divisive" makes no sense because the divisive nature of thought is a good thing for material world and thought can be very rational in dealing with material, mechanical, technical, scientific realm. The issue is misapplication -- when thought is applied to that field which is beyond the limits of thought.
Seeing the brain’s conditioning to think in two, in duality, two options, liberates the mind from that limitation.
