Asked the student which way the library was. She showed it and I perceived her to be an open, curious person, so we talked and she was very friendly. One of the small-talk questions, where are you from, she said here. Here itself? “No, nearby town”. Name of a town popped in my mind and I said it. She was surprised “how did you know”?! I explained that there is one mind and our brains work like radios that perceive mind content – and the word of her town had come to her mind when I asked her the question – and by brain picked it up. “You could read my mind”! There are also mysterious faculties we have – like 5 million magnetic antennas in each gram of brain cell (source: CALTECH). Perception is a matter of sensitivity.
We continued to talk about the riots that were happening today where people were shouting against the police, and police brutality. We talked about systemic racism, etc.
Two young ladies showed up – the friends she was waiting for. We continued to talk about social matters. Before leaving, I gave them my card, to check out writings, music, etc. – and I told one of the two women, you smoke right? There’s also an article on my site about smoking. She said “how did you know that I smoke”? :) – and the first lady said: “he could also tell where I’m from – he read my mind”. So they were all very intrigued by this topic. She said: “I wasn’t smoking when I came here so how did you know?” – honestly, I don’t know how I knew – it was a perception.
I told them that actively trying to read people’s minds is not a nice thing – and I view it as intrusive when done intentionally – but sometimes there’s just a spontaneous perception. I quoted the philosopher J. Krishnamurti who said intentional mind-reading is like opening up someone’s letter – so he didn’t do it – but like what happened today, sometimes there’s just perception that is not intentional.
Then I met a group of your men from Ukraine – almost all of them smoked – and we had a good talk – and there was some awakening. Gave them my card to look up the tips for quitting smoking article on my site, and also the great Ukranian melody that is executed in a set of duos on my first CD, In Friendship – written by Angelo Gilardino “Canzoni Dimenticate” (Forgotten Songs).
And met others too spontaneously. Most smokers who are intelligent want to stop. Some fool themselves thinking they like it – and use other typical excuses to sustain this terrible addiction. The key to change is seeing what-is – the whole process of dependence.

I don't like the term "psychic powers" so much, I prefer the phrase: "supernatural perception" or "extra sensory perception".
There has been soooo much extrasensory supernatural perception in my life that I could write a whole book about it. But it's nothing to be proud of - pride when it's self-centered is a thing of the ego - a shortcoming of character. I have no interest in that. These powers are nothing one can control or use -- well then can be used -- e.g., staying very quiet when you want to know what is going on in another person's mind - and sometimes in that quietness it gets revealed what they're thinking, but I would only use this in situations like business negotiations. Otherwise, most of the time, there's no intentionality. We walk, look at the trees, hear the birds, feel the breeze on the skin, etc., and similarly, if we are sensitive, we can take input at other levels - not our five senses. Extra sensory perceptions, such as telepathy, are not explained by science. Dr. Rupert Sheldrake has done a lot of great research about this topic.
