Persian satellite TV had a program on happiness given the latest statistics released on the topic...

I did a short talk on happiness. The program is watched by millions in Farsi-speaking countries and elsewhere.

Here's a rough translation of it...

In some rich societies which rank high in measures of standard of living there's a high degree of suicide. So we can't say because standard of living is high there's happiness. Real happiness is inner -- hard to explain in two minutes... but one of the important aspects of it is when the mind learns to be simple, not to be complicated, and not to think about areas where it's not the right place for thought -- the right place of thought is in the practical, mechanical, technical areas of life and not psychological subjects.

Our societies have become too thought-dominated, and there's too little love and too much psychological distress…
