Advice To Friend Going Through Divorce

Advice To Friend Going Through Divorce

By Reza Ganjavi

My advice, based on friends who went through a divorce -- and my father who was a Supreme Court judge:

Try to find a peaceful solution. Do NOT -- I repeat -- do NOT assume going to court will be easy. It will SUCK your money-- it will be VERY VERY EXPENSIVE and the winners will be the lawyers.

Don't let the lawyers suck you into litigation.

If your husband doesn't understand this, help him understand it -- get a friend to inject this important idea in his head: that it is to his and to your benefit to find a peaceful solution without going through a legal fight.

If you can't agree on how to split your wealth, and children's custody -- GET A MUTUAL FRIEND TO MEDIATE and help you two come up with a peaceful agreement.

Going through a legal fight is usually stupid, and must only be done if all other options have been exhausted and failed.

Conflict will also suck your energy. You can instead spend your precious energy on helping the world. I am in the same situation with having to fight some jackasses who violated my rights -- but in every case I tried everything to avert litigation but they were too stupid to understand.
